The article details the uncertainty surrounding the exact figures off losses with the $50bn of illicit tax flows out of Africa alleged by certain international non-profit advocacy groups. The debate centred around the initiative to stem base erosion and profit shifting (Beps) which has created an awareness of taxation issues surrounding large multinational companies.
