These are computations of data released by Global Financial Integrity on SADC countries by Ghana Business News. The data reveals that South Africa alone lost $209 billion while Seychelles, with the least of leakages, lost some $458 million. The figures reveal that the 54 countries in Africa lost some $860 billion within that period. The funds are lost through trade misinvoicing and leakages in the balance of payment.
