Illicit trade costs Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi multi-billion dollar annually in revenue to counterfeits. Tanzania is estimated to lose about 1.5 billion US dollars in revenue to counterfeits. Illicit trade includes, but is not limited to intellectual property infringements and trade in substandard goods that pose or cause health or safety risks, parallel imports and undeclared local production, smuggling of excisable goods and a variety of illicit financial flows. As a result "EABC in collaboration with Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) and the Kenya government are organising the high-level second Regional Anti-Illicit Trade Conference in Nairobi, Kenya, to discuss on the issue" aIllicit Trade ,Counterfeiting uiffoadatabase.trustafrica.org/iff/EAC Trade Technocrats Meet to Discuss Growing Illicit Trade.pdf cCF c788d788
