Product counterfeiting is a form of consumer fraud: a product is sold, purporting to be something that it is not.The production and trafficking of counterfeit goods is often portrayed as a matter of intellectual property theft, and through this prism it garners little sympathy. This paper looks closely at what products are counterfeited and the effects of counterfeiting.
