The purpose of this document is to present the response of the UNODC Regional Office for West and Central Africa to the challenges facing the region
in the areas of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants. It is the result of extensive consultation initiated by the Regional Office to ensure, on the one hand, the consistency of the Strategy with the initiatives of the relevant regional and national institutions and, on the other hand, the coordination and integration of the document with the initiatives developed by the UNODC headquarters and other relevant offices.
