This report, published by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, analyses the flow of firearms trafficking, the types of firearms that are trafficked and how this trafficking is conducted. In addition, the report assesses the link between firearms trafficking and other types of crime including the various ways in which firearms enter illicit markets. The study shows how firearms trafficking affects all parts of the world and the adverse impacts on society. This research work was commissioned following a request for detailed information on firearms trafficking by the Conference of Parties to the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
